The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services has announced that the printing of Social Welfare Cheques will resume immediately following the restoration of essential equipment that had experienced a temporary malfunction.
In a public advisory issued Thursday, the ministry confirmed that functionality has been restored to the equipment used to print welfare cheques, ending a brief disruption that had delayed payments to beneficiaries across Trinidad and Tobago.
The technical issues with the printing equipment had temporarily prevented the distribution of welfare payments, affecting an undisclosed number of recipients who depend on these funds for essential needs.
In its statement, the ministry acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the printing disruption and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding during the technical difficulties.
“The Ministry will continue to keep the public updated on any further developments,” officials stated in the advisory. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”
