TTPS Seizes $11.9 Million In High-Grade Cannabis in North Central Operation

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) says arrests are imminent following the seizure of approximately $11.9 million worth of high-grade cannabis during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the North Central Division on Saturday, 1st November.

According to the TTPS, officers, acting on information about a cream-coloured Nissan Almera transporting firearms and narcotics along the Churchill–Roosevelt Highway, proceeded in the direction of Trincity.

The driver of the Almera allegedly became aware of the police presence, breached a red light, and headed towards Trincity Mall. After a brief chase, the suspect, who is said to be known to the police, abandoned the vehicle in the mall car park and fled on foot into the mall, evading capture.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of five bales containing 179 packets of Colombian “Creepy” cannabis, with a combined weight of 108.89 kilograms.
