Tobago Day 2025 celebrations have begun!
On Thursday morning, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine started the week of events by running the first leg of the island-wide torch run.
The run, which began at the Charlotteville Jetty in the East, saw 36 people passing the lit torch, community to community, along the Claude Noel Highway to Crown Point in the West, then to the Shaw Park Food Hub, where it ended.
The torch run is the first of eight days of events, which also include a triathlon, bus tours, a youth debate, a cultural concert, and a drone show.
Tobago Day, which is officially celebrated on December 4th, is observed to commemorate the passage of the Tobago House of Assembly Act of 1980 and celebrate Tobago’s heritage and achievements.
