Congratulations poured in across the region as Philip J. Pierre’s St Lucia Labour Party (SLP) retained its legislative majority in Monday’s General Election.
Election results concluded with the SLP winning at least 14 seats. Independent candidates won two seats, while the United Workers Party secured one.
Mr. Pierre amassed 57% of the popular vote against conservative opposition leader Allen Chastanet, with 37%.
During the election, Mr. Pierre advocated for stability and cautious economic management, an end to violent crime, and the citizenship-by-investment programme.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar took to X, saying, “The people of Saint Lucia have spoken at the polls.” She wished Prime Minister Pierre and his government all the best in the future.
