Cricket West Indies will commence a major year of women’s cricket as the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup and T20 Blaze return to St Vincent and the Grenadines from January 10 to February 1. We have more from Wayne Cunningham.
The Cricket West Indies CG United Women’s Super50 Cup and T20 Blaze once again bring together sides from Barbados, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, T20 Blaze defending champions Guyana, Super 50 defending champions Trinidad & Tobago and hosts the Windward Islands, to provide a strong competitive platform at the start of a busy cricket calendar for the West Indies Women.
A Release from Cricket West Indies indicated that the T20 Blaze will be contested in a round-robin format followed by finals and like last year’s tournament, all matches will be played at the Arnos Vale Ground.
Following the conclusion of the T20 Blaze, the Super 50 tournament will commence at three grounds, Sion Hill, Park Hill and Cumberland with each team playing three games, after which the top-ranked team will be declared the winner.
Guyana claimed their maiden regional women’s title in last year’s Blaze after an undefeated run in the competition, which culminated in a Super Over victory over Jamaica in the final. Earlier in 2025, Trinidad & Tobago secured the Super 50 crown with a seven-wicket win over Barbados in the final.
