Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro says no arrests have been made in connection with the quadruple murder that occurred in Morvant on Sunday night, but investigators are actively pursuing several persons of interest.
Speaking at a TTPS Media Briefing on Monday, Commissioner Guevarro offered condolences to the families of the victims and assured that all available investigative resources are being employed.
“Firstly, I’d like to say and extend my condolences to the family of the deceased in that quadruple murder. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has not made any arrests in that. There are presently persons of interest, and we are continuing at this point in time to utilise all the intelligence and investigative methods that we have successfully utilised in the past to try and bring some closure to the families.”
Eight-year-old J’Layna Armstrong was among four people killed in the deadly shooting which occurred along Lady Young Road in Morvant around 7:45pm on Sunday.
Reports indicate she was travelling in a vehicle with two men and a woman when gunmen opened fire, unleashing a barrage of shots. All four occupants died at the scene.
Police have not yet identified a motive for the attack.
