“Better Days Are Coming”: PM Reflects On One Year In Office

“Better Days are coming”

Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar gave testament to all her government has accomplished during their 12 months in office.

She assured that her government remains committed to making Trinidad and Tobago a better place.

Armed with flags, horns, signs and umbrellas, members and supporters of the United National Congress braved the inclement weather conditions for a double celebration – the party’s 37th anniversary and the government’s 1st year in office.

Prime Minister and Political Leader of the UNC Kamla Persad Bissessar, said she is proud of the work done by her government in 12 months, to change the direction of the country, however, she said there is a lot more to do.

Prime Minister Persad Bissessar addressed one of the country’s major issues, jobs. She said she heard the calls of the people during the election campaign and has made major headway in providing 15 thousand sustainable jobs in the government’s 1st year, with the assurance of more to come.

In the coming months, the Prime Minister said additional staffing and offices will be procured for the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, while the Ministry of Justice, TTPS, Coast Guard and Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service will also receive additional staffing and tools to ensure they can continue to keep the country safe.

The Prime Minister said all the accomplishments within this first year of governance, is testament to her government’s resilience and commitment to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
