WASA : Transmission Main At Beetham Gardens Repaired And Full Service Restored

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has confirmed that repairs to a ruptured transmission main near Beetham Gardens have been successfully completed. WASA has confirmed that repairs to a ruptured transmission main near Beetham Gardens have been successfully completed — but the Authority is now dealing with a separate mechanical failure at the Valsayn A Booster Station that is affecting water supply to several communities.

According to WASA, emergency repair teams completed work on the ruptured transmission main near Beetham Gardens at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday 7th May 2026. Full water service to affected customers has since been restored.

The Authority thanked residents and customers for their patience and understanding while teams worked to complete the emergency repairs.

However, just hours after the Beetham Gardens situation was resolved, a fresh incident emerged on Friday morning.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. today, Booster Pump-set #3 at the Valsayn A Booster Station experienced a significant mechanical failure, rendering it inoperable. Maintenance teams were deployed immediately and are currently on-site assessing the extent of the damage and determining the necessary repairs.

WASA noted that the Valsayn A Booster Station requires two booster pumping units to operate at full capacity. With one unit now out of service, the station’s production has been temporarily reduced by 50%.

As a result of the reduced output, customers in several communities may experience low water pressure or intermittent supply. The areas expected to be impacted include:

  • Eastern Main Road
  • Champs Fleurs
  • Mt. Lambert
  • Upper Santa Cruz
  • Lower Santa Cruz (including the Santa Cruz Booster Station)

WASA has moved to reassure affected residents that its truck-borne water delivery service remains active and available to provide relief while repairs are underway.

Customers experiencing disruptions can access this service by contacting WASA’s Customer Contact Centre toll-free at 800-4420 or 800-4426.

The Authority stated it is “fully in command of the situation” and pledged that every effort is being made to resolve the issue in the shortest possible time. Further updates will be issued as restoration efforts progress.
