The National Council of Indian Culture is honouring one of its longest-serving stalwarts. The Heritage Centre at Divali Nagar has been officially named the Dr. Deokinanan Sharma Virasaat Kendra, celebrating a man who spent over two decades transforming the landscape of Hindu and cultural development.

Referred to as ‘The Pope’ by those who knew him, the late Dr. Deokinanan Sharma is remembered for his dedicated role in cultural transformation,specifically, the development of the Hindu community.
In his honour, the National Council of Indian Culture has named the Heritage Centre at Divali Nagar as the Dr. Deokinanan Sharma Virasaat Kendra. With Virasaat signifying heritage, inheritance, and legacy.
For the past president who served for more than two decades, this moment is described as deeply significant, beautifully connecting the past to the future.
His leadership as noted by the President of NCIC, was not measured by the years he served but by the depth of the impact he made.
The president added that this centre must now be more than a physical structure.
The current NCIC president called on the youth utilizing the space to preserve the legacy shaped by Dr. Sharma, ensuring it is passed on to generations to come.
