Memorable Comebacks Highlight Day Two Of Cycling Championships

The 2026 National Track Cycling Championships continued, with Day two taking place of Friday at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva.

Among the three competing division’s saw Jahziel Jacob and Ella-Marie Young crowned the male and female national elimination race champions respectively in the Juvenile division.

Here are the highlights.

The Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Championships have become a cornerstone of the national sporting calendar, promoting the sport while showcasing the skills of both local and international riders.

The 2026 edition continued at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva.

We begin in the master division with participants between the ages 40 to 59. The Elimination final was a highly contested one, but in the end it was a two horse race between Sheldon Ramjit of Hummingbirds International and Roger Malco of Raiders Cycle and multi-sport.

In the end Ramjit came out on top, as Malco took second. Adam Monsterin, also of Raiders Cycle and Multisport finished third.

This was the sequence that won Jahziel Jacob the elimination title in the male juvenile division, when he overtook Rayann Sheperd. Jacob of Vapor Wake Multi-Sport winning gold.

On girls side Kermyah Julien at one stage held commanding lead over opponents.

Julien and fellow Madonna Wheelers rider, Christia-Marie Julien would later be eliminated. It then came down to Ella-Marie Young of Raiders Cycle went up a gear to defeat Rayann Sheppard of Sonics, Julien would have to settle for bronze.

In the final lap of the male juvenile kerin final. Coming out of no where into the picture would be Jahziel Jacob, who delivered an exceptional performance, flying into second position before catching Jeduthun Henry of Team Colesafety Cycling, to win gold, completely a memorable comeback
