The Eastern Football Association contested the second round of matches in their new season on the weekend and it featured an encounter between newcomers Athletic International Academy and one of the zone’s stalwarts SKHY FC.
The Eddie Hart Ground in Tagarigua is clearly in need of maintenance but that did not stop long-time East team SKHY FC meeting the emerging Athletic International Academy in the Eastern Football Association League competition
With both teams looking for their first points of the season following opening round losses…it was SKHY hitting the net first with this power strike from atop the box…1-0
But then came Athletic Int…Dalon Sankar with the equalizer
Then the go ahead goal direct from the corner by Malachi Woodley to give AI the 2-1 lead at half
Woodley would be at it again with another dead ball situation in the second half…dispatching the free kick from just outside the area
Kendall King came up from the back to make it 4-1 as AI totally took over
This header off the Woodley corner took the tally to 5
Areelio Niles made it 6-1 as the Skhy defence completely broke down
Goal #7 for AI was the hat trick strike for Malachi Woodley
The side in Blue could do no wrong…even off balance they were putting them away…Khadir Atiba getting his name on the score card
It would be a 9-1 triumph for Athletic International Academy over SKHY FC …with Malachi Woodley getting 4 to give them their first points in the Eastern Football Association
