Runners Set For Expanded Subway Road Race In Arima

They’re back, and it’s bigger and better. Distance runners, mark the date, September 6th. It’s the Subway Road Race, and it will be in Arima. The launch took place on Friday.

Nearly 800 runners took part last year. Now, close to 1,500 are expected to line up at Subway’s O’Meara branch for the second annual Subway Series run.

Subway is continuing its partnership with road racing with its unique races on September 6th: the 6-inch race, which is a 6K, and the Footlong race, which is a 12K. Some of the key details were released on Friday at Subway’s St James branch, including the prizes on offer for the winners of the 12K.

In November, elite runners will travel to Panama for the marathon.

The Panama Marathon is happening in November. Yet again, Subway has partnered with the Coalition Against Domestic Violence to provide support, financial and otherwise, having recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the group.

The gesture was well-noted by one of the directors of the CADV, Roberta Clarke, among other things.

The event will be coordinated by Andreas Stuven and his company, Evolution Timing, and he stated that the 12K will not be simply a longer version of the 6K, and participants can expect a scenic and safe course.

Are you a 6-inch or a Footlong type of runner? See you at the race village on September 6th at Subway O’Meara.
