In an effort to secure food safety and agricultural health for the Caribbean’s future, the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, and the Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to strengthen collaboration in agriculture, education, public health and regional resilience.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, and the Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA) will support professional development, public education, student opportunities and projects across areas of shared regional interest.
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Acolla Lewis Cameron, said the collaboration will integrate CAHFSA’s regional reach with the campus’s research excellence and teaching capacity.
Chief Executive Officer of CAHFSA, Dr. Gavin Peters, said the agreement also supports cultivating quality employment opportunities.
The UWI and CAHFSA shared a continued commitment to building Caribbean capacity, protecting communities, strengthening systems and supporting sustainable development.
