The Honourable Barry Shiva Padarath, Minister of Public Utilities, officially installed Mr. Daniel Thornhill as a Director on the Board of the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) on Tuesday, presenting him with his letter of appointment.
Minister Padarath was joined at the presentation by his ministerial team, including the Honourable Clyde Elder, Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities, and Ms. Shivanna Sam, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Public Utilities.
Addressing the newly appointed director, Minister Padarath stressed the importance of TSTT’s ongoing transformation, calling on the company to move beyond its traditional role as a telecommunications provider and become a more dynamic, technology-driven enterprise capable of meeting the evolving needs of Trinidad and Tobago.
Thornhill brings more than 15 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, backed by a strong background in project management and financial expertise. His track record overseeing high-value portfolios, managing complex projects, and engaging a wide range of stakeholders has sharpened his skills in strategic decision-making, risk assessment, and financial stewardship. Padarath noted that this depth of experience will strengthen the TSTT Board’s ability to provide governance, strategic direction, and oversight as the company pursues growth and transformation.
The Ministry of Public Utilities congratulated Thornhill on his appointment and said it looks forward to working closely with him and the rest of the TSTT Board as the company advances its agenda of growth, innovation, and transformation.
