More than 6,000 young people have been impacted through the Loveuntil Foundation’s SOAR Power of One programme.
This year, students from ten schools across Trinidad were recognised for their achievements in leadership, innovation and community service at the annual SOAR Awards.
General Manager of the Loveuntil Foundation, Simone James, says the initiative has transformed the lives of thousands of young people.
“Through this support, we have been able to impact way over 6,000 students through workshops, life skills training, competitions, leadership and so much more. We are forever grateful to Republic.”
The students showcased innovative projects tackling real-life issues, from mental health to environmental awareness.
Senior Manager of Planning and Financial Control at Republic Bank, Hanna Ali, urged the students to keep learning, serving their communities, and striving for excellence.
“I encourage every student to remember that this ceremony is not the finish line. It’s another starting point. So continue asking questions, continue learning new skills and continue looking for ways to serve your communities and uplift those around you.”
Delivering the feature address, guest speaker Rachel Sealy reminded students that true achievement is measured by personal growth. She encouraged them to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and continue building resilience, responsibility, and strong character.
“If you read a little better today than you did yesterday, that’s achievement. If you show more kindness today than you did yesterday, that’s achievement. If you are more disciplined and more responsible and more confident and more able to stand on this stage and sing like that girl sang today, you are achieved.”
The Foundation plans to expand the SOAR programme, giving more students access to practical skills, leadership training, and opportunities to prepare for future success.
