A firearm, ammunition, narcotics, and a quantity of local and foreign currency were seized during a targeted raid and search operation conducted by officers of the Tobago Division this morning, Thursday 6th August, 2026.
During the operation, PC Yorke, acting on intelligence regarding illegal firearms and ammunition, led a team of officers to a premises at Golden Grove Road, Canaan.
During the search of an apartment, officers recovered one firearm, identified as a Glock 22 Austria .40 calibre pistol bearing serial number 301076FC and marked “Fulton County, GA Police,” along with one 9mm pistol magazine containing fifteen (15) rounds of ammunition resembling 9mm rounds, one .40 calibre pistol magazine containing five (5) rounds of .40 calibre ammunition, and fifteen (15) additional rounds of .40 calibre ammunition.
A quantity of suspected dangerous drugs was also discovered and seized, including five packages containing compressed cannabis with an approximate combined weight of 2.612 kilograms, two packets containing cannabis weighing approximately 45 grams, and two packages containing cocaine with a total weight of approximately 38 grams.
Additionally, officers recovered one electronic scale bearing the marking “TRUPER,” two Trinidad and Tobago passports, and one National Identification Card. A quantity of local currency amounting to $1,867, along with United States currency totalling US$700, was also seized.
Two persons were arrested in connection with the discovery. They include a 30-year-old female geriatric nurse of Golden Grove Road, Canaan, and a 29-year-old male of Golden Grove Road, Canaan.
The exercise was strategically directed by ACP Singh and Snr. Supt. Kirk, coordinated by ASP Area West/Operations Bacchus, Insp. Mohammed, and W/Ag. Sgt. Gordon-Harris. The operation was supervised by Sgt. Hernandez and W/Cpl. Alfred, and executed by officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force and the Gang Investigations Unit.
Investigations are continuing under the direction of PC Yorke.
