Two men working as supermarket security guards were among three people arrested after they were found with illegal firearms on Wednesday 5th August, 2026. The officers conducted the anti-crime exercise after receiving information regarding illegal firearms.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to a supermarket in La Brea, around 3.20 pm and identified themselves to a male security officer. A search was then conducted, during which time the officers found one firearm tucked in the man’s pants. Police seized the gun and arrested the man.
Officers later proceeded to another supermarket at Pepper Village, Fyzabad, where they identified themselves to a male security officer. When they searched the man, the officers found one firearm tucked in his pants. Police arrested the suspect and took possession of the firearm.
Later that evening, around 8.45 pm, acting on information, police intercepted a man on a motorcycle proceeding in a northerly direction along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway. Officers searched the 39- year-old man and found one firearm with a magazine containing two rounds of 9mm ammunition inside a black-coloured bag. The man was cautioned and arrested.
