The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Mounted Branch marked a major milestone on Saturday, celebrating 175 years of service with a commemorative ride through Woodbrook and St Clair.
The special event brought together past and present mounted officers, highlighting the branch’s long-standing traditions of discipline, professionalism and service to communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
The ride was led by Acting W/Supt. Bain-Keller, Head of the Mounted Branch, as the TTPS paid tribute to the generations of officers who have helped shape its proud history.
Members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force also joined the celebrations, including Commander R. Frederick of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, along with retired members of the service, Retired Sgt. Thomas and Retired Cpl. Gittens.
The anniversary celebration was also a reflection of the continued partnership and camaraderie among the country’s security services.
As the horses made their way through the streets, the commemorative ride brought the Mounted Branch’s history directly to the public, while showcasing a tradition that remains an important part of the TTPS.
