The body of 45-year-old Ravi Seelochan was recovered off Tobago on Sunday after being spotted floating near the Nylon Pool shortly after midday.
Reports indicate that passengers aboard several reef tour boats alerted lifeguards at Pigeon Point after noticing the body in the water.
Lifeguards responded promptly, retrieved the body and brought it ashore before notifying the police.
Mr. Seelochan was later formally identified by his brother, Sunil Seelochan.
Police subsequently authorized the removal of the body to the Scarborough Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.
The circumstances surrounding Seelochan’s death remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
