Back To School: TTPS Takes Proactive Approach To Student Safety

As students return to school, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is stepping up its School-Oriented Policing programme across 51 schools, using data from the previous academic year to target key concerns including fighting, vaping and marijuana possession.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin, Head of Administration and Operational Support and officer leading the School-Oriented Policing Unit, joins Virmala to discuss the TTPS’s intelligence-led approach to school safety, the consequences of poor behaviour and the role of parents, teachers and students in creating safer school environments.
