Central Public Assistance Board Meets To Address Outstanding Appeal Cases

Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Vandana Mohit, on Wednesday September 30, 2026, met with the fully constituted Central Public Assistance Board, before the Board commenced deliberations on outstanding appeal cases.

Minister Mohit urged the Board to address the outstanding matters with urgency, underscoring the importance of ensuring that appeals are reviewed and resolved in a timely and fair manner.

She noted that the work of the Board forms part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to strengthen and modernise the administration and delivery of social welfare services, with a focus on greater efficiency, responsiveness and people-centred service delivery.

The now fully constituted Central Public Assistance Board represents an important step in addressing outstanding appeals and improving the provision of social welfare services to citizens.
