Sod-Turning For 200-Room Marriott Hotel In Tobago Set For Tuesday

The sod-turning ceremony for the construction of the Marriott Hotel at Rocky Point in Mt Irvine, Tobago, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and other dignitaries are expected to be in attendance.

The 200-room hotel will be constructed by Superior Hotels.

The development will also include bungalows, villas, private residences and other associated facilities.

The Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) was granted by the Environmental Management Authority in May 2026, clearing the way for construction to begin.

The construction cost is estimated at TT$500 million.
