Angostura is continuing its Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy, offering support to over 40 top Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) students.
The company provided comprehensive back-to-school packages, including a book voucher valued at $1,000, a school bag with essential stationery, and merit medals to celebrate their achievements.
The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Ian Forbes, affirmed Angostura’s commitment to supporting academic pursuits.
“We are proud to honour these students’ achievements and provide resources that will help them continue their path to success with confidence. At Angostura, empowering the next generation is a responsibility we hold with great pride. This contribution is a testament to our commitment to support their academic pursuits and inspire excellence.”
Over 30 primary schools were recognised at the awards ceremony.
Acting District Curriculum Coordinator at the Ministry of Education, Patrick Ramdath, commended the expansion of the initiative to include schools in Central, South, and Tobago.
“These are not just corporate gestures. They are real investments in young lives, representing brief, genuine partnerships and shared responsibility. Thank you, Angostura, for turning access into opportunity and for investing in our future.”
Principal of Guayaguayare RC Primary, Burt Wiseman, highlighted the financial constraints that parents face. He said Angostura’s contribution would lighten the load.
“Your generous grants to these pupils has reduced that financial constraint, and you have planted a seed that will have the potential of creating a lasting impact on all these students here.”
Principal of Lower Morvant Government Primary, Nirmala Maharaj, had some words of encouragement for the proud parents.
“To you, the parents and guardians, continue to support and guide your children. Maintain healthy communication throughout their secondary, tertiary, and their lives. Maintain that healthy communication and be the example that they can look up to for encouragement and comfort.”
