Eleven entrepreneurs from Arima will have the opportunity to build their businesses, thanks to the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.
The Local Economic and Development Booths are business hubs that, according to Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Faris Al-Rawi, will encourage economic activity.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government, Peter Mitchell, said the booths, located at Hollis Avenue, encourage sustainable, inclusive development where entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to sell local products.
Mayor of Arima, Balliram Maharaj, noted that these booths are some of the first for this project in the country. He said the 11 entrepreneurs must use this opportunity as a platform for positive change.
Minister Al-Rawi said these booths are part of the government’s provision for economic change at the community level. He promised that there will be similar local economic development areas all over Trinidad and Tobago.
