An Arima man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Maria Paul, whose body was found on October 1st, 2024, in the Valencia district.
Omali Rennie, aka ‘Fari’, ‘Mootie’ and ‘Mali’, 22, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Lisa Singh-Phillip, on Friday 25th, July, 2025.
The matter was postponed to September 8th, 2025.
Paul, 19, of Bermuda Road, Valencia was found dead at Antigua Road, on October 1st 2024, after being reported missing to police in September 2024.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by Sgt. DeSuze of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two, on Thursday 24th July, 2025, in the Arima district.
Investigations were supervised by Supt. Douglas, ASP (Ag.) Victor, W/Insp. Sylvester, Sgt. Ramoutar, Sgt. Radhaykissoon and PC Subiah, all of HBI Region Two.
Rennie was charged with the offence by W/Cpl Jules, also of HBI Region Two, on Thursday 24th July, 2025, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Tuesday 22nd July, 2025.
