Australia Complete 3–0 Sweep Of West Indies Women In T20 Series

Australia has completed a 3–0 clean sweep of the T20 International series, defeating the West Indies Women by 40 runs via the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method in a rain-affected third T20 International at the Arnos Vale Stadium in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Georgia Voll put on a masterclass, a maiden T20 International century off just 52 balls, six 6s, and a total of 101 runs that helped Australia post 211 for 6.

Hayley Matthews was West Indies’ standout with the ball, finishing with 3 for 29, but it wasn’t enough to contain the Australian batting lineup.

When the West Indies came to bat, the powerplay told the familiar story, three early wickets leaving the chase in trouble from the start. Matthews again led with the bat, unbeaten on 30, with Deandra Dottin at the crease when the rain came down, with the score on 61 for 3 after ten overs.

Forty runs short on DLS. The series was lost, 3–0.

The West Indies now regroup ahead of the ODI series, starting this Friday, March 27th, at Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis.
