Cricket West Indies have today announced the re-election Azim Bassarath as Vice President of its Board of Directors.
Having been the sole candidate for the election after being nominated by the Jamaica Cricket Association and Leeward Islands Cricket Board, Bassarath’s victory was confirmed at a Special Meeting of Members held today.
The CWI also stated that all territorial Boards, except the Guyana Cricket Board, were attendance at the meeting.
On his re-election the victorious Bassarath said, “I’m excited to return to my duties for the good of West Indies cricket, working alongside my dedicated colleagues at Cricket West Indies. Since March of 2023 when Dr. Shallow took over, we made great strides in the most popular format of the game in the form of T20 cricket and we are determined to continue making these strides in the other two international formats.”
