The Blue Wave Harmony has resumed inter-island operations today after international classification surveyors cleared the vessel to return to service, this from the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT).
All repair works on the vessel have been fully inspected, passed, and certified by international class surveyors and flag state administration, meeting all required international safety, regulatory, and certification standards, according to PATT.
Before entering full commercial operations, the vessel will undergo final sea trials with cargo, including goods over 7,000 kilograms, construction materials, dangerous goods, and livestock.
The Blue Wave Harmony is scheduled to depart Port of Spain at 2:00 p.m. today and is scheduled to leave Scarborough at 11:00 p.m.
The vessel’s return significantly strengthens capacity on the inter-island sea bridge. Once it resumes full commercial service, the Blue Wave Harmony will join three other vessels: the Buccoo Reef (approximately 1,000 passengers and over 180 vehicles), the APT James (approximately 900 passengers and up to 150 vehicles), and the Galleons Passage (approximately 400 passengers and around 60 vehicles).
