bmobile has reunited with Trinidad and Tobago’s senior men’s national football team, providing sponsorship support to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) ahead of the decisive final phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The partnership marks the renewal of a historic relationship, as bmobile was a key partner during Trinidad and Tobago’s unforgettable 2006 FIFA World Cup appearance in Germany. Two decades later, the company is once again standing behind the national team as they prepare for a crucial pair of qualifiers that will determine whether the team advances.
Trinidad and Tobago face the Reggae Boyz (Jamaica) on November 13th at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, before returning to the same venue on November 18th to meet Bermuda in their final Group B fixture. Victory in both matches could put the team in contention for direct qualification or a FIFA playoff berth.
bmobile has a longstanding connection to local football through multiple World Cup qualifying campaigns, title sponsorship of the National Super League, support for Tobago youth programmes such as the “Kick It With Karyn” tournament, and a range of other football initiatives. In 2018, the company also launched the TEGO streaming app, which carried live matches from the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Speaking on the sponsorship, TSTT’s Acting CEO Keino Cox said the company is proud to once again support national football at a defining moment in the sport’s history.
“bmobile has always believed in the power of football to lift the nation. This is more than sponsorship, it is patriotism, unity, and belief in our people,” Cox said. “Our national team has shown heart, discipline and resilience, and we are honoured to fuel their continued journey toward the world stage. As Trinidad and Tobago’s only homegrown telecommunications provider, championing our national athletes is a responsibility we embrace.”
After four Group B matches, Trinidad and Tobago sit third with five points, drawing 0-0 with Curaçao (September 5th), losing 2-0 to Jamaica (September 9th), defeating Bermuda 3-0 (October 10th), and drawing 1-1 with Curaçao (October 14th).
Once this final qualification round concludes, group winners from A, B and C will qualify directly for FIFA World Cup 26, joining hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The two best runners-up will advance to the FIFA Play-off Tournament, giving Concacaf a chance to send up to eight teams to the global stage for the first time in history.
TTFA President Kieron Edwards said bmobile’s support arrives at a pivotal moment in the campaign and reflects renewed confidence in the direction of the FA.
“Having bmobile on as a partner shows that we are moving in the right direction as an FA, as a new executive. That’s the confidence we want back with corporate Trinidad and Tobago,” said an elated Edwards.
“For the last couple of months, we would have looked at revamping our football on the field but also revamping the image of the FA off the field. With bmobile coming on board, this shows that we’ve been doing the right things. We’re pleased that corporate TT has put back that faith into football, as well as the fans putting back the faith into football as well.”
Edwards added, “We have to continue doing the right things such as putting the right policies and structures in place, so sponsors are confident their money goes in the right places,” he said. “It will be no different in the future.”
With two critical matches ahead, the TTFA is calling on fans nationwide to fill the stadium and rally behind Trinidad and Tobago.
