Boosted Water Supply For San Fernando East

Old infrastructure and leaky pipelines are some of the reasons several districts in the San Fernando East constituency are without a pipe-borne supply of water.

During a recent tour of the area, Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales, said some of the pipelines are as old as 50 years.

He said the Ministry will commence a robust pipe-laying exercise to address the issues.

MP for the area, Brian Manning, said some of the elevated areas in the constituency are most affected including Ladybird Crescent in Pleasantville, and Tarodale.

As a result, Mr. Gonzales said the Ministry will consider other options to boost water supply in the area.

At present, both the Caroni Water Treatment Plant and Navet Dam supply water to the constituency.
