Brian London is the 2026 National Extempo Monarch of Trinidad and Tobago.
London and his cousin, multiple Extempo Monarch Winston “Gypsy” Peters, went head-to-head in Tuesday’s Extempo Wars at the Kaisorama 2026 Extempo and Freestyle Competition Finals at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain.
Over the final five rounds, the two traded musical jabs, with much of the exchange centred on their respective roles in public life: Gypsy as former chairman of the National Carnival Commission (NCC), and London as a football coach.
London, a former Extempo Monarch who was last year’s runner-up, takes home the first prize of $200,000, while Gypsy receives $100,000 for his second-place finish.
Meanwhile, Akeem “Preedy” Chance reigns for a second consecutive year as the National Freestyle Monarch.
He faced first-time contender Nester Boxill, also known as Sekon Sta, in the final round of the Freestyle competition, walking away with the first prize of $100,000, while Sekon Sta receives $50,000.
