Budget 2022: Increase In Tobago’s Allocation For Culture, Tobago Marina Coming In 2023

The 50% increase in Tobago’s allocation to culture is a result of the reopening of the country’s economy.

During Friday’s Standing Finance Committee deliberations, MP for Couva South, Rudy Indarsingh, questioned the reason Tobago’s allocation to culture increased by $500,000.

Minister of Finance Colm Imbert said public health restrictions would have limited the usual outdoor events held on the island in fiscal 2020.

During the deliberation on Head 15, the Tobago House of Assembly, the Finance Minister also explained the Government’s spending on the proposed marina for Tobago.

The Tobago House of Assembly was allocated $2,339,135,000.
