Building A Regional Economy

Legislation that will expand the number of skilled Nationals to work freely in CARICOM nations will soon be debated in the House of Representatives.

Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne, said currently there are only five categories of skilled individuals that can move freely into and out of Trinidad and Tobago, but it is hoped that this will be expanded through Amendments to the Immigration (Caribbean Community Skilled Nationals) Amendment Bill, 2022.

Dr. Browne said while it allows T&T Nationals to venture into other territories, it also allows skilled individuals from other CARICOM regions to come to this country to build a regional economy.
