The Calypso Girls recovered from their opening game defeat with a 49-36 win over Singapore at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Prolific Trinidad and Tobago goal-shoot Afeisha Noel was named player of the game for her 38-point performance.
Tiana Dillon hit eight to round out the victory.
T&T outscored Singapore 13-8 in the first, were kept closer in the second, but topped the second half with 13-11 and 15-6 third and fourth quarters.
The Calypso Girls will play Uganda in their third Group D match tomorrow.
