An anti-crime operation in the Chaguanas District resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis trees and paraphernalia yesterday.
On Monday 29th September, 2025, between the hours of 10am and 6pm, acting on intelligence, officers conducted surveillance on a specific individual and premises located in Assaraf Road, Charlieville area.
Following consultations under the authority granted by Section 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulation, 2025, officers entered and searched the premises. During the search, a quantity of suspected cannabis and related paraphernalia was discovered. Items seized included:
– Marijuana trees, stems, leaves, pods, and seeds
– Loose dried plant-like material
– Lighting equipment and growing facilities
– Fertilisers and packaging materials
A 28-year-old man from Crooks Avenue, Gopaul Lands, Marabella, was present at the location. He was informed of the suspected offences related to the cultivation and distribution of cannabis cautioned and arrested.
This exercise was coordinated by Superintendent Glodon and Assistant Superintendent Mark Hernandez, and was closely monitored by Inspector Joseph and Sergeant Ramsumair. Officers of the Chaguanas Crime Patrol Unit also played an active role in the successful execution of this operation.
