CARIB Brewery Announces Responsible Price Adjustment In Response To Excise Duty Increase

CARIB Brewery Ltd. has announced a price adjustment on select alcoholic beverages, effective today, in response to an increase in excise duty.

A statement from the company said, “Pursuant to Legal Notice No. 376, excise duty on alcoholic beverages has been immediately increased from TT$5.14 to TT$10.28 per litre. As a result, we are implementing measured price adjustments on select products, effective October 16th, 2025.”

Among the products to see an increase in price are Malta, Shandy, Carib, Stag, Royal Extra Stout, Guinness and Heineken.

CARIB Brewery assured consumers that other beverages, including Smirnoff Ice, Caribe Hard Cider, Vitamalt, Ginseng-Up, Smalta, Heineken 0.0, and Rockstone Tonic Wine, remain unaffected.

“We have worked diligently to keep prices as low as possible, and are only adjusting prices where absolutely necessary. We encourage consumers to enjoy our full range of beverages, some of which remain unaffected by this adjustment, offering continued value at the same price.”

The Brewery emphasised a balanced approach to the new pricing strategy. “We understand that these are challenging times and so our approach has been thoughtful and measured; balancing economic reality with our responsibility to customers and consumers.”
