Cancelled sailings of the inter-island ferry have prompted an increase in demand for passengers accessing the air bridge, and national carrier Caribbean Airlines has announced that although all scheduled flights are full, standby passengers will be accommodated subject to availability and operational constraints.
In a social media post, Caribbean Airlines noted that flights on the domestic airbridge for today, December 30th, are operating at full capacity, and passengers with confirmed tickets will be prioritised on their scheduled services.
The airline noted that operational teams are assessing feasible options. Standby passengers will be accepted where space becomes available.
On Monday the Trinidad and Tobago Inter-island Transportation Company Limited advised customers that the T&T Spirit was temporarily withdrawn from service due to mechanical issues. As a result, all sailings of the vessel have been cancelled.
Adjusted sailing times have been scheduled for the Buccoo Reef and the Galleons Passage.
