CARICOM Expresses Grave Concern Over US Strike In Venezuela

The Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM has confirmed that it convened an emergency meeting after reports of a US strike within Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

In a statement, CARICOM noted that the developments were of “grave concern,” particularly because of possible implications for neighbouring countries.

CARICOM said that it is actively monitoring events as they unfold and will continue to keep the people of the region informed and provide updates as more information becomes available.
