CG United Super50 Cup: Red Force Claim Second Win With Rain-Affected Victory Over Guyana

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force secured their second win of the CG United Super50 Cup with a narrow six-run victory over the Guyana Harpy Eagles via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method on Sunday night at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Chasing 197 in a rain-shortened 44-over game, Red Force were 106 for 4 in 21.2 overs when heavy showers ended play. With the DLS par score at 100, the hosts were ahead thanks to a quickfire 29* off 18 balls from Jyd Goolie, including 24 runs off one over from Syllus Tyndall.

Earlier, Terrance Hinds led the bowling attack with 3 for 18 as Guyana were bowled out for 196 in 40.3 overs. Ricky Jaipaul also chipped in with 3 for 29. Guyana were reeling at 21 for 4 before Gudakesh Motie (65) and Keemo Paul (39) mounted a recovery with a 65-run partnership.

In reply, Red Force were in trouble at 65 for 4, but Goolie and Tion Webster (31*) steadied the innings before the rain arrived.

Red Force next face the Windward Islands Volcanoes on Tuesday at the Sir Frank Worrell Ground, UWI Spec, St Augustine.
