The Trinidad and Tobago Dragon Boat Federation held day 1 of the The Chinese Bicentennial Dragon Boat Festival in Chaguaramas on Saturday.
Though all eyes were on paddlers, Chinese cuisine and clothing booths gave attendees an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the culture.
The 20th edition of the Chinese Bicentennial Dragon Boat Festival Regatta pushed off with a sunny start, perfect for paddlers, who gave it their all on the water.
Public Relations Officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Dragon Boat Federation, Kent Fuentes, explained that the Regatta started in 2006 and 20 years later teams are still excited to participate.
He gave an overview of the day’s proceedings.
Chinese cuisine, clothing, and other aspects of their culture, were are a part of the festival offerings.
Mr. Fuentes is encouraging the public to join other excited spectators, and be a part of the event.
