Community Development Outreach Brings Over 30 Government Agencies To Mayaro

Over 30 key Government agencies were present in Mayaro as Minister of Culture and Community Development Michelle Benjamin and Mayaro MP Nicholas Morris hosted a Community Development Outreach.

The expo is part of the government’s push to bring services closer to citizens.

The expo in Mayaro was the fourth edition of Ministry of Culture and Community Development’s outreach initiative.

Minister of Culture and Community Development Michelle Benjamin commended Mayaro MP Nicholas Morris for encouraging her to come his constituency.

She said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to the citizenry.

“This initiative was borne out of conversation wit the PM to make sure no one was left behind. PM said whether you are in plain or lagoon we see you. Rural constituencies, we see you.”

She said the government is doing its part to remover the perception that access to state resources is limited to the capital city.

“Do not stay and say POS is where the resources are. my ministry’s commitment to you is to bring every agency where you live and reside. Far too long we never had access to comm centres. The govt is working to change that. Every resource and prog will be reflected in comm centres.”

MP Morris thanked Minister Benjamin as he praised her work ethic.

“This is part of process to rebuild and energy TT. Going comm to comm. 10 years if neglect cant be reversed in 1 year. But ppl like Minister Benjamin has reversed that process and today is just 1 percent of the work she is doing.”

The National Commisiosn for Self Help, the office of the Financial Services Ombudsman, Servol, NESC, and HDC were some of the state agencies present to share information with the people of Mayaro.
