Courtyard By Marriott Port Of Spain Unveils Modern New Look

Modern design and a refreshed look are at the heart of recent upgrades to the Courtyard by Marriott Port of Spain.

Unveiled on Tuesday, the improvements include a new restaurant concept and redesigned public spaces.

According to Director of Sales Gina Wayow-Manning, the renovations are part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to upholding global Marriott standards while enhancing the experience for both business and leisure guests.

“So, at Courtyard by Marriott, we are run by Marriott International, and we have special global standards that we have to uphold as a Marriott property. So this renovation is what was driven by that, and, you know, the commitment to have specific standards for our ever-changing guests, and the guest experience. We would have done over our restaurant completely. So it’s now called Kitchen and Bar by Courtyard, and the Kitchen and Bar restaurant is fresh, inviting. We have so many new spaces, very spacious, and it’s great for business as well as leisure.”

She described it as a modern, new experience.

“We have a lot of space outdoors now for cocktail events, social events, weddings. And of course, we’re always aligned with our business clients as well. The guests themselves are able to see a fresh new look. They’re able to still connect within the lobby area, plug in their devices, you know, Courtyard is all about business. We still have that as well. And of course, with our location, you can’t go wrong with leisure as well.”

Ms Wayow-Manning said the plans to upgrade the space have been in the pipeline for some time.

“With Marriott, we always have a commitment for innovation. So we don’t have any major renovations planned very soon, because our guest rooms were renovated in 2018, our meeting rooms in 2019, and now we have our public space and our new restaurant. So I think we’re okay for now for the major renovations, but we’re always looking for ways, technology and so forth to keep up with the times and with our ever-changing guests and our growing guests.”

Now in its 21st year, she said the hotel remains committed to innovation, keeping pace with advancements in technology, design, and guest expectations.
