Couva South MP Barry Padarath has dismissed a private motion brought by Laventille West MP Kareem Marcelle on the socio-economic impact of increased unemployment in communities and the provision of adequate and meaningful social relief measures.
Providing data to the Lower House, he said MP Marcelle should be ashamed to bring such a motion to Parliament, as he said citizens have endured widespread unemployment and destitution from 2015 to 2025, when the PNM was in office.
