The Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Commander Dr. Daryl Dindial met with the new President of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social Welfare Association (TTPSSWA), Mr. Ishmael Pitt, and the executive at the office of the Personnel Department earlier today. The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue and strengthen lines of communication.
Commander Dindial stated that, while it was made clear that the discussions were not related to any formal negotiations, the Association raised a number of important matters concerning the Job Evaluation Exercise (JEE), pension reform, the group health plan and a possible timeline for recommencing negotiations. He added that the meeting reflected the ongoing commitment to maintaining open, transparent and productive engagement with the Department’s stakeholders, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of the TTPS are heard and addressed.
During the meeting, the CPO also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the outgoing president, Mr. Gideon Dickson, for his dedicated leadership, integrity and commitment to the welfare of TTPSSWA members over the years. The CPO commended Mr. Dickson for his honest and principled stewardship, which contributed significantly to the Association’s achievements and strengthened the voice of its members.
Commander Dindial noted that the meeting was productive and laid the groundwork for continued dialogue scheduled for early January 2026. He also extended Christmas greetings to the TTPS and their families.
