Consumer Price Index – June 2025

The Central Statistical Office is pleased to announce the release of the Consumer Price Index for the month of June 2025.

Inflation Rate

The Inflation Rate for June 2025, which measures the percentage change in the All Items Index for the month of June 2025 over June 2024, was 1.5%. This represents an increase from 1.4% for the previous period (May 2025/May 2024). The Inflation Rate for the comparative period (June 2024/June 2023) was 0.7%.

All Items Index

The All Items Index calculated from the prices collected for the month of June 2025 was 125.6, representing an increase of 0.3 points or 0.2% above the All Items Index for May 2025. 

The Index for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages increased from 153.4 in May 2025 to 155.5 in June 2025, reflecting an increase of 1.4%. Contributing significantly to this increase was the general upward movement in the prices of tomatoes, fresh whole chickens, cucumber, celery, sweet potatoes, soya bean oil, eddoes, grapes, cabbage and oranges. However, the full impact of these price increases was offset by the general decrease in the prices of pumpkin, garlic, hot peppers, fresh carite, parboiled rice, plantains, fresh salmon, table margarine, melon and pimento. Price changes in this section for the month of June 2025 accounted for a net overall increase of 0.4 points. 

Other Sections

A further review of the data for June 2025 compared with May 2025 reflected a decrease in the sub-index for Clothing and Footwear of 0.1 %. All other sections remained unchanged.
