CWI And Shane Dowrich Resolve Five-Year Legal Dispute

After five years, Cricket West Indies (CWI) and former West Indies wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich have amicably resolved a long-standing legal dispute arising from his early departure from the 2020 tour of New Zealand.

The issues stemmed from Dowrich’s early return from the tour, which affected his selection eligibility and central contract renewal.

CWI Chief Executive Officer Chris Dehring expressed satisfaction with the resolution, stating that the organisation welcomes Dowrich into its coaching structure as he transitions into professional development following his retirement from international cricket in December 2023.

Philip Nicholls, attorney for the former Windies keeper, said his client is delighted that the period of uncertainty has ended and is looking forward to forging a coaching career.

The Barbadian, who played 35 Test matches for the West Indies, is eager to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of cricketers, particularly wicketkeepers.

Both parties have agreed to keep the settlement terms confidential.
