Preventive Detention Orders issued against business executives Dominic Hadeed, Genevieve Hadeed and Star Sabga allege they were involved in an ongoing conspiracy to assassinate members of the Government.
The allegations are contained in legal notices published in an Extraordinary Gazette, which outlines the intelligence authorities say justified the detention orders under the Emergency Powers Regulations.
According to the notices, Dominic Hadeed allegedly made statements advocating violence against government officials and was considered capable of facilitating serious organised criminal activity because of his financial means and influence.
Genevieve Hadeed is accused of participating in the same alleged conspiracy, while Star Sabga is alleged to have encouraged violent action and played a significant role in the purported plot.
Authorities say the detention orders were necessary to protect public safety and disrupt the alleged plans. All three have denied the allegations, and their attorneys are challenging the legality of the detention orders before the courts.
