Distinguished Leadership Conference To Tackle Digital Change

Business leaders are being urged to prepare now for the rapid changes brought on by artificial intelligence.

Chief Executive Officer of The UWI Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, Mariano Browne, says artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept, as it is already reshaping how companies operate, market, and make decisions.

He said the Distinguished Leadership and Innovation Conference, hosted by the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business on March 13th, will focus squarely on how businesses can adapt.

“What we do is we invite, bring international speakers, people in the business of innovation, who are in the business of business, and in terms of what the business landscape looks like to anticipate the changes, what’s taking place, what you need to look at, and also, too, how you need to change some of your business practices.”

He noted that businesses must begin treating data as a key foundation of their success and rethink how they operate in an evolving digital environment.

“The reality is how do we adapt our business to understand what is taking place. That’s really the whole idea of disruption, because that’s what AI does. It’s disruptive. It changes business models. It changes the way things happen. How do you prepare for it? How do you prepare your business? How do you deal with your data? How do you address your data? How do you keep it? Most of us don’t. But that’s one of the key things, that’s a key foundation of all your success, your business model.
And it’s really built on your customers’ data.”

The conference will feature international speakers, including Ian Khan and Roger Spitz, with sessions designed to help executives and managers future-proof their organisations.
