Dylan Carter Qualifies For 2025 World Aquatics Championships

Dylan Carter has officially booked his place at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore after a commanding performance in the men’s 50m freestyle at the ASATT National Open Long Course Championships over the past weekend.

Competing at the National Aquatic Centre, Carter clinched gold in a thrilling final, touching the wall in 22.36 seconds.

He narrowly edged out rising star Nikoli Blackman, who finished second in 22.48 seconds, while Zarek Wilson claimed the bronze in 22.99 seconds.

Carter’s winning time met the qualifying standard of 22.82 seconds for the upcoming global meet.

The event also showcased the growing talent pool in T&T’s swimming scene, with Blackman and Wilson delivering strong performances that signal a promising future for the sport.

The World Aquatics Championships will be held in July in Singapore.
