All 279 Government and Government-Assisted Primary and Secondary schools selected for upgrades under the Ministry of Education’s July/August Vacation Repair Programme will be fully prepared to welcome students on Monday, September 8th.
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 246 schools had their full scope of repair works successfully completed, and an additional 25 schools are in their final phase of upgrades.
The Ministry reassured that these ongoing works will not impact the reopening of schools.
Minister of Education Dr. Michael Dowlath commended the efforts of all involved, stating that he is proud that, through collaboration and strategic planning, all schools will be ready to open on schedule.
He said ensuring that schools are safe, secure, and welcoming for every student is a top priority, as they continue to provide schools with the required funding, equipment, and supplies to deliver quality education.
